Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index HSI, +0.97% increased 1.0% to 18,130.74, while the Nikkei 225 Index NIK, +1.73% of Japanese companies rose 1.7% to 32,169.99.

Shares of metalworking machinery firm Amada 6113, +5.68% and semiconductors company Renesas Electronics 6723, +4.43% increased 5.7% and 4.4%, respectively. Among the Hang Seng Index constituents, securities/commodity exchange activities company HK Exchanges & Clearing 388, +3.34% saw the largest increase Monday, as shares rose 3.3%.
