Boeing has overcome a lot in recent years. But it has a new problem: a hole in its product lineup. Failing to address it could mean lower market share and lower earnings in years to come. The solution could be leaning into new aviation technology to leapfrog rival Airbus.

Competition is difficult and Boeing is still digging out from the Covid-19 pandemic and issues with the 737 MAX, which was grounded worldwide between March 2019 and November 2022 following two deadly crashes that occurred within five months.
