The lawsuit by Attorney General Letitia James seeks $250 million in penalties, plus limitations on the company and its executives conducting business in New York.

The attorneys have argued that the company was never in default with its lenders and that the lenders profited from their business with Trump.The defense has also maintained that the financial statements came with a disclaimer that Trump Organization accountants had not verified the calculations behind the reports and that banks and lenders did not rely on them.
