Irish electric vehicle charging company ePower said its latest funding round has raised €2m from private investors.

ePower said the oversubscribed funding round attracted support from a combination of new and existing investors, which it said is further evidence of the growing popularity of electric vehicles.

During the year, ePower completed the installation of 90 EV charge points at 13 hotels around the country run by Windward Management. John O'Keeffe, the company's chief executive, said the combination of Government plans for electric cars and consumer sentiment around them makes this an exciting time for the industry.
