The Arkansas rice industry donated 240,000 pounds of rice to the nonprofit in honor of National Rice Month and Hunger Action Month.

The food bank says the donation will provide almost one point eight million servings of rice for families, children, and seniors in need across the state.

The rice comes from ten mills in Arkansas -- including Anheuser Busch, Poinsett Rice and Grain, and Windmill Rice Company, all of Jonesboro. The record-breaking donation will be distributed to five partner agencies across the state, including the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas.
