Amazon bucks Monday trend by rising enough to leapfrog Apple in market-cap ranks

Shares of Amazon.com Inc. AMZN, +0.68% sruged 2.0% in morning trade Monday, enough to propel the e-commerce giant back above Apple Inc. AAPL, -0.25% into second place on the list of the largest U.S. companies by market capitalization. Amazon's market cap was at $837.4 billion, above Apple's $834.3 billion, but still below first-place Microsoft Corp.'s MSFT, -1.38% $864.1 billion. Amazon's stock has rallied 4.
