Lower stock-market open puts main U.S. indexes on track for 4-day losing streaks

U.S. stocks fell slightly at the opening bell on Thursday as major equity benchmarks were set for a fourth straight losing session. The S&P 500 SPX, -0.83% was down 0.2% to 2,766. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.90% declined 55 points, or 0.2%, to 25,618. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, -0.98% fell 0.3% to 7,485. The European Central Bank said it expected interest rates to remain at ultra-low levels through the end of 2019 at its policy meeting on Thursday.
