Weather statement by Environment Canada indicates heavy rain but farmers' market event goes ahead as planned

You might not call it perfect Thanksgiving Weekend weather, but that didn't stop hundreds of Sudburians from getting out to take advantage of all the fruits and vegetables and other choice products on sale at the downtown Sudbury Harvest Festival farmer's market.

Dozens of vendors ignored the rainy weather to put their goods on display for the appreciative members of the public who showed up to browze and buy. And there was lots to choose from; pickles, pumpkins, pies and pastry and so much more.Vendors and customers alike were dressed for the weather with hats, warm coats, hooded rainjackets and umbrellas. Most of the vendors were glad they brought and set up their shelters. The downtown Harvest Festival is free and is expected to continue until 4 p.m.
