Human rights activists under the auspices of Veteran Activists in Lagos State have urged residents and traders in the state to support the move of the state

government to ban street trading and closure of markets with poor sanitation. They challenged the state government to muster the courage to implement state laws that guide a cleaner environment and that ban street trading.

The activists also kicked against those condemning the state government for closing down some markets in the state, because of poor sanitation. It will be recalled that the state government closed down some major markets in the state, such as Ladipo Market and Mile 12 market because of poor sanitation, just as it arrested some street traders and confiscated their wares.
