Plans were submitted for permission in principle to turn a vacant brownfield site, just off the town’s Main Street, into a brand new commercial space.

Plans for a mini business park in Prestwick have been approved — despite some objections from people living near the site.

According to Oberdarn Property’s supporting statement the intention of the application is to construct a mix of single storey nest units, aimed at “small to medium sized businesses” off Salisbury Place.Although it is not clear which businesses would take on the units, examples of Class 2 accommodation could include: Health and Beauty, Service/Repair, IT Consultant or Bereavement .

“And the plans show a building being erected right on the boundary to my back garden. An erection of a height capable of accommodating a mezzanine floor causes me two specific concerns; the first that any windows in the building may look directly into my property and secondly that the height of the building will obscure light into the back of my property.”
