Nate Blazewski scores in the 27th minute to spark the Porters to a 4-1 win over Lincoln-Way East in a Class 3A Lockport Regional semifinal.

Senior forward Nate Blazewski has learned to stop worrying about things for Lockport. Especially when it comes to scoring goals. It’s one of the hardest parts of the game to master at any level, but Blazewski had to go against his own impulses when looking to create that type of offense for the Porters. “Every year since I was a freshman, I had more assists than goals,” Blazewski said with a knowing shrug. “I got yelled at when I was younger for not being more selfish.

” Blazewski, who combines an excellent burst with a quality first touch and separation speed necessary to create off the dribble, wasn’t willing to concede anything to start the playoffs. Ismael Gomez celebrates after giving Lockport a 2-0 lead against Lincoln-Way East during the Class 3A Lockport Regional semifinals on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023. A kicker for the football team, he’s pursuing those opportunities for college.
