An unnamed senior mining executive sexually harassed a female staffer from Gumtree and HotCopper operator, The Market Herald, at the house of the company director Gavin Argyle, according to fresh allegations made in the bitter feud for control of the Perth-based business publication.
Mr Argyle described Mr Sanger’s request in text messages as an “ill-conceived proposal”, and claimed the then managing director would “take bat and ball home in a dummy spit”. The statement of claim alleged that a month before, in September last year, a female employee of the Herald was sexually harassed by a “senior mining executive” and “close friend” of Mr Argyle at a function at his Mosman Park home.
Mr Sanger alleges the surveillance of the “private” emails, which contained details of the sexual harassment allegations, was unlawful and a “prejudicial alteration” of his position because of the harassment complaint.
