A New York judge has ruled against Donald Trump, imposing a more than $350-million penalty over what the judge said was a years-long scheme.

A New York judge ruled Friday against Donald Trump, imposing a penalty of more than $350 million over what the judge ruled was a years-long scheme to dupe banks and others with financial statements that inflated the former president’s wealth. Trump also was barred from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation for three years.

They also argued that some of the allegations were barred by the statute of limitations. The suit is one of many legal headaches for Trump as he campaigns for a return to the White House. He has been indicted four times in the last year — accused in Georgia and Washington, D.C.
