Aged Care industry wage rise a ‘great outcome’ but ‘well overdue’

Health Services Union Secretary Gerard Hayes says the Aged Care industry receiving a wage rise of up to 28 per cent is “long overdue”.

Mr Hayes joined Sky News Australia presenter Ortenzia Borre to discuss the benefits and empowerment of a properly funded workforce.“It is really important we note at the moment that the average superannuation balance for women working in Aged Care is $18,000. “So having a wage increase between 18 and 28 per cent brings them into a competitive market with health facilities across the country.”
