Anthony Albanese will use a speech on Thursday to say more help to deal with high power prices is on the way in the May budget.

Households and small businesses struggling with high power prices are set to receive extra government assistance in the next federal budget.

In his speech, Albanese said: “Helping Australian families and small family businesses with their energy bills was a key priority in last year’s budget. The prime minister’s speech to the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia is a direct pitch designed to sell his government as an ally of the more than 5 million Australians employed by small businesses.
