Lawmakers will look at increasing the number of medical cannabis licenses for processors, dispensaries and integrated facilities.

Wednesday a House committee will look at increasing the number of medical cannabis licenses for processors, dispensaries, and integrated facilities.

The bill would increase the licenses to six for processors, seven for dispensaries, and 15 for integrated facilities. The commission has announced the awarding of licenses several times since June 2023. The actual issuance of the license has been delayed by legal battles.SB276 would give licenses to applicants who were awarded licenses between June 2023 and December 2023, even if the awarded licenses were rescinded.If there are still licenses to be awarded, the commission is required to consider applications that were completed and submitted by April 13, 2023.
