the inauguration of the new President will take place next Wednesday

The ANC has announced at least two women as its premier candidates. In Limpopo Dr Phophi Ramathuba is set to replace Stan Mathabatha who has served two terms and Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae is set to replace Mxolisi Dukwana in the Free State.

Gauteng has retained Panyaza Lesufi as premier and Dr Zamani Saul will continue as the Northern Cape premier. However, the National Freedom Party has announced that it will go into coalition with the ANC, DA, and IFP in KwaZulu-Natal. Barnes says the party is engaging in national level with other parties to have sake of stability in South Africa.
