This company is working on a marijuana breathalyzer test to detect drivers who are high

A breathalyzer able to determine if a driver smoked pot could roll out in select cities in the fall, according to a company developing the first-of-its-kind product.

Tools like Hound Lab's alcohol-and-marijuana breathalyzer or Canadian company Cannabix Technologies Inc.'s roadside saliva-testing device aim to present an objective determination of impairment rather than one based on an officers' judgement or an intrusive test. Drivers with a blood alcohol concentration over .08 percent are considered under the influence of alcohol or driving while impaired.

If this works, it will mean that many more states will jump on the bandwagon of legalizing marijuana. The enforcement of driving while not under the effect of MJ is a major issue. Legally, we can determine if one beer was too much, but not if one puff was.

This is going to be great for companies that do random drug tests, people should be able to use marijuana on their days off and after work and not lose their jobs over a joint they smoked 3 weeks ago.
