The current owners redid the porch and balcony railings to restore them to what they looked like in 1892.Franklin Delano Roosevelt was in the White House. The U.S. hadn’t yet entered WWII. And the average U.S. salary was $1,299. This was 1940.The historic mansion, built in 1892, has eight bedrooms, three full- and one half-bathroom.

Listing it now, it was hard to find comparable sales. Of the large historic homes in Perth Amboy, there hasn’t been one for sale in eight or nine years, she said. “I would hope the buyer would be someone from Perth Amboy whose been looking to get something bigger and knows the area,” she said. Five of the bedrooms are on the second level, along with two full bathrooms. And, on the third level, there are three more bedrooms.

Outside the home is another fireplace, an in-ground pool with a waterfall, a pool house with a play area on the upper level. There is also a two-car garage and more murals.
