Two businesses were left in rubble by the time the blaze was extinguished

Thousands of pounds have been raised for the owners of a business which was "burnt to the ground" during an industrial fire in Nottinghamshire. Six fire crews rushed to the scene of the blaze in Urban Road Business Park, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, at around 10pm on Friday, June 28.

Jack and Sarah Cabourn, who own CabournsCarpentry, started a fundraiser after the devastating incident, which met its £5,000 target within days. "Last night was possibly the worst night of our lives," a statement on the GoFundMe appeal reads."We had to stand on the street and watch our business burn to the ground. Our whole livelihood, our life. The sole thing that provides for our family and it’s all gone. Just like that.

Ashfield Fire Station, which was one of five stations that deployed firefighters to the scene, took to social media to shut down false rumours that had been spreading. This included "inaccurate" comments about hydrants being covered in tarmac and that the fire had started in LockDown Tackle and Bait.
