BeefChain, a company meshing the world of blockchain with the beef supply chain, received certification from the United States Department of Agriculture as a Process Verified Program, confirmed by the certificate BeefChain provided to me, shown below. BeefChain is the first blockchain company to receive such USDA certification.
Process Verified Program certification from the USDA lets BeefChain conduct a host of activities in line with the department's regulation. The status allows BeefChain to audit different feed yards and ranches in four specific programs, Lindholm explained. Regarding the Wyoming Plus program, Lindholm also pointed out that a calf could be born in Wyoming and move to California, while still under certification in some instances.
"The BeefChain software creates a digital trail of transparent, tamper-proof records through the supply chain from pasture to plate," aLindholm said BeefChain wants ranchers to receive an immediate return on investment for tagging cattle's ears and taking part in the program."We think that ranchers should receive more for that product by going through these extra steps.
As far as decentralization goes, Ranching and blockchain both share aspects of decentralization, benefitting from multiple involved parties. When joining blockchain with the ranching community,"you create a powerful network effect," Jennings said.
Interesting that they know everything about a cow including the pasture it was born in but somehow lose track of 20 million illegal immigrants.
Great except that you could do the same more efficiently without a blockchain
Obviously none of these idiots at the USDA realize the huge carbon footprint the beef industry causes! Go vegan and save the planet!
