Liverpool Council cabinet members have accepted a huge cash injection from the new Labour government

A multi million pound investment that could deliver thousands of new homes over the next decade in Liverpool’s Central Docks is a “really significant milestone for the city,” it has been claimed. The city council has agreed plans to enter into an agreement with Homes England to accept a significant sum of Brownfield Infrastructure Land grant funding.

1 hectare centrepiece park and public realm, as well as the development of a road network, bridges and other utilities. It is hoped this work can begin as early as spring next year with follow-on development and the construction of thousands of new homes starting in 2027. Around 20% of those would be earmarked as affordable, with a further 55,000 sqm of commercial development and community facilities.
