Gaslight Lounge owner John Pattee has installed a state-of-the-art security system to prevent crime, hold people accountable and aid law enforcement investigations.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A fatal shooting on Fourth Avenue in downtown Anchorage on Sunday was captured by multiple video cameras,, which aided the police investigation — part of an extensive surveillance camera network employed by the Gaslight Lounge.

Gaslight Lounge owner John Pattee has a state-of-the-art security system featuring 25 cameras inside and outside of his bar, including the street and the parking lot behind the bar. He says his system is set up to capture the moment people come into view of cameras until they exit — all of which is recorded and, if needed, provided to law enforcement in the event a crime takes place, Pattee says.

“If it does happen, they’re going to get caught,” Pattee said. “We’re going to have it on film, and we’re going to provide it to the police, and the police are going to figure out who you are, and you’re going to get caught.”
