FILIPINO women, mothers in particular, are very resourceful. In tough times, they do multiple tasks to provide for and take care of their family.
Financial technology company Tala found out in its survey that over half or 56 percent of the respondents said that their foray in entrepreneurship is driven by the desire to have the flexibility to be a homemaker while making money. Also, they want personal growth, specifically become their own bosses and to challenge themselves and develop new skills .
Four-fifths shared they particularly considered taking a loan yet only 29 percent proceeded with their application to start a business, and 21 percent to supply their existing one. “We have heard plenty of success stories from Tala customers who kickstarted and eventually grew their businesses with the help of our financial services. We take pride in these because it is part of our mission to be a reliable and trusted partner of entrepreneurs, especially women, in their journey to success,” said Missy Santos, marketing manager of Tala. Among them is mom and longtime Tala customer Aimee.
