Things haven’t been great for the Trident brand

Maserati is a storied automaker filled with ups and downs. Things haven’t always been easy for the Italian automaker, filing for bankruptcy several times and getting rescued by a larger company.

Now, it seems that the Italian firm’s future is in limbo yet again. Following Stellantis’ 1H 2024 sales report, Maserati’s parent company might be selling it off on the near future. The most basic version of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is the one we'd take off-roadThat’s according to Stellantis’ Chief Financial Officer Natalie Knight. “There could be some point in the future when we look at what’s the best home for ,” said Knight.

There is a glimmer of hope for the brand, however. There’s the all-new GranTurismo and GranCabrio, along with the Grecale to attempt to grab some sales from the German establishment. But even then, it seems those cars aren't raking in the numbers. There are a couple of all new models expected soon, but those might still be years away. Unless its mainstream models get a dramatic uptick in sales, it looks like Maserati will have tough times ahead of it.
