FILE -- While Floridians are hoping for the best, it’s time to make sure everything is in order if a natural disaster hits our area, especially when it comes to your insurance.

Mark Friedlander with the Insurance Information Institute says the use of drones isn’t new, and they’re used to assess physical properties, specifically the roof. Friedlander added the most common time to have your home inspected is when it’s time to renew or when you bought new coverage, and insurers are required by law to give you 48 hours’ notice of an inspection.
