A Co Down mum has set up a boutique business as a way of escaping her pain after the loss of her baby boy last year.
"George was a healthy baby the whole way through pregnancy right up until the day after his due date when is heart decided to stop beating with no warning signs."I gave birth to our gorgeous George on the 26/2/18. He weighed 9lb 4oz and was 60cm in length."She said: "Nothing prepares you for labour knowing that your baby is coming out sleeping silent."I’m not quite sure where I got the energy to go through those really dark days it all seems like a blur.
Using baby George as inspiration for her new venture she switches off from reality when she gets to work."Doing this little venture, in my son's memory has definitely helped my mental health."I remember the early months after losing George and struggling to sleep. "The only thing I want is for my sons name to be spoken off. When people die, people are quick to “forget” and “move” on. For my son that will never happen and that is thanks to all my amazing customers."
She added: "I know support is there for people going through child loss. To me family and friends were and are my saving grace. "To me personally I don’t think that there is enough awareness about stillbirth. Yes there are the big charities and they are extremely helpful to some but I feel like more could be done in regards to the early stages of baby loss. Especially for people who Don’t come from large families and are maybe dealing with it on their own.
