The 2019 national and provincial elections kicked off in various voting stations around the country, bar several which either opened late or failed to open on account of service delivery protests. Most closed by the scheduled 9pm closing time, to begin the counting process.The ward covers 109.7 square kilometres with a population of 6 642, as per the 2011 Census.

In the 2016 Local Government Elections, the ANC comfortably won the ward by 55%, followed by the UDM at 38% and the AIC at 4%. The population is quite youthful with 28% of the population between 10 and 19, which could be because of migration of young adults after matric to either pursue their studies or look for employment opportunities in urban areas.

Mvomvo Lodge is a 100% women-owned enterprise and was established in 2015. It is only half a kilometer from Ntabankulu and 5km from the well-known Phuthi Junction and lies in the picturesque hilly area popular for hikes and nature trails.
