Maxis today has announced that it will launch Graphics-Processing-Unit-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) as part of its Maxis Business cloud and managed services

Maxis today has announced that it will launch Graphics-Processing-Unit-as-a-Service as part of its Maxis Business cloud and managed services portfolio. This makes it the first telco to offer the service in Malaysia, providing businesses with access to powerful GPUs on-demand, eliminating the need for costly hardware investments and complex infrastructure.

This arrives after the announcement of a partnership between Singtel and Bridge Alliance, which aims to expand the former's own GPUaaS offerings to businesses within the region. A member of the coalition, the local telco has opted to integrate the Singapore-based service provider's services with its own cloud and connectivity solutions, providing customers with enhanced options to support their organisational requirements.

According to Maxis, its GPUaaS service is designed to support advanced applications like AI, machine learning, 3D modelling and large-scale analytics, aimed at helping local businesses accelerate their digital transformation. It is powered by H100 Tensor Core GPU clusters and, uniquely, Maxis will be one of the first telcos globally to offer services using NVIDIA's next-generation GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchips.
