The items were shipped to stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and through internet sales. USDA officials said an ownership change caused some batches to be marked as inspected, even though they weren’t. Currently, there have been no confirmed reports of any adverse reactions due to jerky consumption. The USDA recommends that anyone concerned about a reaction contact a healthcare provider.

The FSIS said it is concerned some of the jerky products may be in consumers’ pantries. The products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
