The world is falling behind in its efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.

Beijing will open its markets to 33 countries in Africa, including South Africa. The countries will enjoy zero tariffs on all Chinese products. Addressing the forum, Xi told African leaders that his country would help them deal with the issue of tariffs. He says, “We have decided to give all LDC’s having diplomatic relations with China including 33 countries in Africa zero tariff treatment for 100% tariff lines. This made China the first major developing country and the first major economy to take such a step. It will help turn China’s market into Africa’s big opportunity.
