Stocks are rising Tuesday, attempting a recovery after the S&P and Dow had their worst day since Jan. 3

Stocks rose Tuesday as equity investors attempt to stage a comeback following the worst daily selloff for S&P 500 and the Dow since Jan. 3. The S&P 500 SPX, +0.52% is up 0.2% to 2,819. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.45% advanced 78 points or, 0.3%, to around 25,403. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, +0.64% was up 0.6% to 7,691. Equities received a lift after President Donald Trump suggested a trade deal with China could still arrive in the next few weeks.
