'We extend our sympathy to the employees, customers, and creditors at this difficult time'

The company behind Karen’s Diner and Broadway Diner has gone into liquidation - a little over a year after shutting down its restaurant in Prestwich.

At the time, the owner of the two concepts Viral Venues said it was closing the sites as part of a reshuffle of the brands into pop-up touring ventures, like Karen’s Diner On Tour and Broadway Events On Tour. During its lifetime as a restaurant in the UK, Karen's Diner was visited by the likes of Davina McCall and Katie Hopkins.

Liquidators said they are aware that more than 2,500 clients have paid for events that are ‘now very unlikely to take place’. Customers who have made bookings with deposits for future shows, which include dates in Glasgow advertised for this weekend, are now being encouraged to contact their credit card providers, as insurance protections may be in place to assist with refunds.

“We understand the disappointment and concern, particularly for those with deposits for upcoming shows. Our priority is to guide those affected through this process and ensure the necessary steps are taken."
