The September jobs report is set to be released on Friday, drawing attention to the current state of the U.S. labor market. Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc. Senior Vice President Andy Challenger joins Wealth! to share his insights on hiring and layoff trends.

Andy, always a pleasure to read through some of these stats that you're able to kind of comb through and parse through and ultimately uh bring to our attention here. So it worried us that fed was acting too late that the labor market was showing signs of cracking and accelerating into a downturn or a cooling, turning into a freezing. It's about where we'd expect to be.

Sometimes organizations are bringing in new business units while closing others just to adapt to changes in their industry. Most of this data is showing us at least right now a relatively calm period and, you know, it can always cool further than this, it could always start to heat back up again.
