The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ondo State chapter has hailed the members of the state House of Assembly for halting the process of passing the 2024 supplementary budget into law.

According to the opposition party, the courage exhibited by the lawmakers deserves commendation, particularly that the N487,437 billion supplementary budget proposal was a ploy by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to mobilise funds to prosecute the forthcoming off-cycle governorship election. The legislature had on Thursday stepped down the request of the governor to give a nod to the supplementary budget following the failure of the Commissioner for Finance in the state, Mrs.

While describing the Finance Commissioner as a 'thin god', the PDP, in a statement by its publicity secretary in the state, Kennedy Peretei, stated that, 'the Peoples Democratic Party , Ondo State Chapter, salutes the courage of the legislators for rejecting this amendment bill, coming barely a month to the governorship election in the state.
