The Independent Electoral Commission in Limpopo has announced December 4 as the date in which by-elections will be held in the troubled Thabazimbi District Municipality.Provincial Electoral Officer Nkaro Mateta says nominations are now open to political parties and independent candidates.Mateta encouraged candidates who intend to contest the by-elections to submit nominations before the closing date.
“Any political party or an independent candidate can now submit their candidates either online through the online portal or they could bring their documents to the local office of the IEC in Thabazimbi. Please make note that the closing date is November 11 and cannot be extended,” she said. The IEC also conducted voter registration in Ward 30 of the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality in Sekhukhune, Limpopo today.
