Frankfurt's DAX 30 index shed 1.0 per cent to 11,906.02 points and the Paris CAC 40 slid 1.2 per cent to 5,249.27. Outside the eurozone, London's FTSE 100 index dropped 0.7 per cent 7,220.98 points compared with Tuesday's closing level.
