The province is building more than 1,300 new electric vehicle charging stations in small and medium-sized communities, including Ajax.Minister of Energy and Electrification Stephen Lecce made the announcement in Ajax Tuesday.

The new chargers are part of a $63-million investment from the province to build publicly accessible charging stations in communities with a population of less than 170,00 and any Indigenous community in Ontario. They will be built at 270 sites throughout Ontario, like arenas, hospitals, parks and recreation centres. It includes 190 charging ports in northern Ontario.
