Hilkiah McLeggan, 77, was fatally injured at East Street Market, Walworth, just before the minute’s silence on Remembrance Sunday. Two other men suffered stab injuries. Ali Musse, 66, of no fixed abode, was charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Musse spoke only to confirm his name and address via a Somalian interpreter at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday. He is to appear at the Old Bailey. Got a story?
