The meeting is expected to consider solutions to Belfast congestion, after weeks of heavy rush hour traffic.

The Department for Infrastructure will meet business leaders on Monday to discuss solutions to traffic congestion in Belfast.

O'Dowd is not attending Monday's meeting, which the DfI said is between "departmental officials and key stakeholders"."We cannot afford to have a repeat of what has happened the last few months," he said. "The traffic on the Westlink and the Sydenham bypass is bad, even going onto the Boucher Road and Lisburn Road is bad, so it's far easier to not contribute to as much congestion by getting the train in," he said."It's been left behind, particularly with the train service. It's dated now and it's not even as good as what it used to be.
