Traders cry out as midnight fire destroys goods worth millions in Oyo market

Goods worth millions of naira were midnight of Friday destroyed at the popular Orita-Aperin market in Ibadan, the state capital.

The Babaloja of Orita-Aperin, Mr. Abiodun Ahmed, while speaking, said that goods worth millions of naira were lost to the fire, adding that the cause of the incident was yet to be known. Ahmed noted that most of the owners of the shops affected by the fire just bought goods into their respective shops, adding that, that was what made the total value of the goods affected by the fire to be much.

Ahmed, however, appealed to the Oyo State Government to come to their aide because the loss was too much for the victims to bear.
