Evergreen Shipping, a Taiwanese company, continues its tradition of generous bonuses by awarding its employees an average of 20 months' salary as an end-of-year bonus.

A Taiwanese shipping giant, Evergreen, is known for its generous bonuses to employees. On December 31, 2024, the company announced an average end-of-year bonus of 20 months' salary for its workers. Based on an average salary of around NT$60,000 (S$2,500) in 2023, this translates to an approximately S$50,000 bonus. Evergreen has a history of substantial bonuses, reaching up to 40 months' pay in 2021 and exceeding that in 2022 with bonuses up to 52 months' salary.

The company's strong performance is attributed to factors such as the Red Sea crisis, which began in October 2023, forcing companies to opt for longer, safer routes, leading to supply chain disruptions and higher freight rates
