As the automotive industry faces an uncertain future, consolidation among major players is expected. While Nissan has sought a merger partner, its historical rival Toyota was never a consideration. Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda addressed the consolidation trends affecting Honda and Nissan at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, confirming that Toyota was not involved in merger discussions.
