One of South Africa’s best performers, who scooped the Best New International Act at the BET Awards in Los Angeles, has urged young girls to believe in themselves irrespective of where they come from or their backgrounds.Sho Madjozi rose to fame after dropping her debut single “Village dreams” two years ago. From there she was featured by local and international artist before dropping her 12 track studio album, Limpopo Champion’s League.

“My story is a testimony that you can be from any village, and any forgotten part of the world and you can still be a superstar. And for the girls that come from where I’m from, which is Limpopo, I just wanna say you don’t have to change who you are and you can still be there.” The girl from Elim in Limpopo has shared the stage with the likes of, Usher, Pharell Williams, Wizkid, Jay Z and Beyonce during the Global Citizen Festival in Johannesburg last year.
