Rolling coverage of the day’s political developments as they happen, including the latest from the Tory leadership contest

At the last election Conservative politicians often accused Labour of resorting to “the magic money tree” to fund its promises. Even though Labour’s manifesto had details of how it would raise money for these commitments, the jibe was intended to show that Labour’s commitment to fiscal rigour was bogus, and that the party just expected to conjure money out of thin air. Stop promising money to the undeserving, what about homeless people or ‘JAM’s’ or others in challenging situations A lot of this group are being rescued from 1st world problems. Where is your social conscience, where is the fairness in all these ridiculous promises

& why exactly are these two industries in particular worthy of extra help? These landowners/businesses are aware of the risks within their industry & they are also sitting on decent £land!! & if they’d played hand different with supermarkets power ratios might’ve been different!

Is that on top of the £350M for the NHS which they have promised?

There IS no public mandate to leave with no deal so it, as Hunt said to Marr, he wants to protect democracy, then he HAS to give the public the choice.

And the costs just racking up.

And what happens to all other businesses and services with a no deal Brexit.? Who is going to pay for people’s mortgages/rents when they lose their jobs?

Soviet socialism

Why can’t he give that to the NHS? oh yes... he’s going to privatise it double quick. NHS

Anytime 'bailout' is mentioned, it means something has gone very wrong. Could keeping our EU contracts in place actually be the best thing for this country?

I thought the NHS was getting that?

As Victor Meldrew would say, “Ay doon’t belieeeve ut!”😡

And he admits that job losses could be a price to pay for leaving without a deal.

what assets are they selling off to the Chinese for this money I wonder? It's a short term solution for a long term hell for these industries.... Dangerous times. Quantitive easing...

Will this affect the 350m quid a week for the NHS?

For Tory voters you mean?

idiot
