A 26-year old man with Down syndrome took a cold call from an insurance company selling life insurance. It's clear from audio recording of that phone conversation that he didn't understand what the call centre operator was asking him to agree to, but he went ahead and purchased the policy. Today corporate regulator ASIC says it has begun the process of banning these types of calls to make sure something like this never happens again.
