The ACCC has released a landmark report that examines the impact of social media platforms and search engines on the digital media and marketing space. Campbell Reid, News Corp Australia's director of corporate affairs, told Sky News he welcomed a shakeup in the sector.

“Now is the time for these tech companies to finally come to the table and create change rather than be forced into it through tough regulation," he said. Speaking with Sky News, Finance Minister Mathias Cormann said it was now up to the government to find a sensible way to address some of the issues raised within the report. The Morrison government said it would now set up an advisory body to carry out the recommendations.
