About 2,000 vendors from Baclaran, Parañaque, who were affected by President Duterte’s directive to clear the streets of illegal vendors and structures heaved a sigh of relief after Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez announced the construction of a market for them to sell their wares.

Olivarez said the planned “People’s Market” which will be built using 60 x 300 meters of “cement slab” placed on top of canals along the service road of Roxas Boulevard has already been approved by the Metro Manila Council .

Olivarez sought for understanding from business establishments that may be inconvenienced by the planned market.
