Detective Superintendent Gavin Wood has said his key message to the community following the Sydney stabbing rampage is for residents to “go about their business”.

Detective Superintendent Gavin Woods has said his key message to the community following the Sydney stabbing rampage is for residents to “go about their business”. Mr Woods says the alleged attacker was “clearly operating on his own”, and is urging Sydney locals to not let the incident “deter” them from going about their everyday lives.

The alleged offender is now in custody and is expected to be charged after an attack which police say resulted in the death of a 21-year-old woman, after a body was found on Clarence St on Tuesday afternoon. It’s alleged he also stabbed a 41-year-old woman who is now recovering in hospital with knife wounds to her back. Image: News Corp Australia
