Sydney Dance Company’s board has appointed Brett Clegg as its new chair, replacing Karen Moses who held the position for three years | Engalvo

In his first move, the former senior News Corp executive has unveiled Dancer’s Circle a fundraising initiative aimed at supporting the wellbeing of the company’s artists during and beyond their performing careers.

“You never take lightly people’s willingness to donate to any cause,” said Clegg. “But for a lot of donors this idea has really resonated. The idea of doing something that really changes the lives of these dancers that they see on stage has touched a lot of people emotionally.” Clegg has a strong conviction that the role of a voluntary board member should extend beyond mere governance and involve energetic advocacy on behalf of the organisation.
